FORM-Lab

Frankfurt Orofacial Regenerative Medicine

Welcome to FORM-Lab

Dear Visitor,

It’s a pleasure for us to welcome you on the homepage of FORM-lab (Frankfurt Orofacial Regenerative Medicine). FORM is the research lab of the Department for Oral, Cranio-Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt (Germany).

Established in 2007, our lab primarily focuses on in vivo biomaterial research, utilizing various surgical models. At FORM, our objective is to comprehend the cellular tissue response to biomaterials and their vascularization patterns in both in vitro and in vivo environments, with the ultimate aim of optimizing their clinical applications.

Within FORM, our research is centered on understanding wound healing processes, tissue regeneration and oncological therapy concepts in conjunction with biomaterials.

Our mission is to develop clinically applicable tissue engineering concepts to enhance tissue regeneration in patients suffering from tissue loss within the head and neck region due to cancer, trauma or other diseases.

We continuously welcome national and international students, specializing in medicine, dentistry and biology who are working on their master’s or doctorate’s theses. Additionally, we host post-doctoral scientists, visiting professors and laboratory technicians from various countries who come to our laboratory to acquire new techniques and engage in collaborative research. As such; we are always keen to stay at the forefront of research and explore new collaborations.

We hope you find your visit to our website informative and engaging. Thank you for your interest in our research endeavors.

Yours sincerely,

Shahram Ghanaati, MD, DMD, PhD
